Pre-purchase of annual national and regional e-vignettes for 2024

Between 1 December and 31 December 2023, pre-purchase is open again this year, allowing you to buy your annual national and annual regional vignettes in advance for the following year.

It is important to note that the validity of pre-purchased vignettes does not start at the time of purchase, but at 0:00 on the first day of the following year, January 1, 2024. It will expire at 23:59 on 31 January of the following year. This means that vignettes purchased in advance will be valid for a total of 13 months. Example: an annual regional or annual national vignette purchased on any day of December 2023 for 2024 will be valid from 0:00 on 1 January 2024 until 23:59 on 31 January 2025.

The ITM Decree 45/2020 (XI.28.) on toll roads (motorways, motorways, main roads) regulates the prices applied in the e-vignette system.

The table below shows the annual motorway vignette prices applicable from 1 January 2024.

Changes for buses

From 2024, an EU regulation will make it compulsory for buses to use motorways and trunk roads in addition to motorways. From 1 February 2024, buses (the B2 category) will be subject to elementary changes: vehicles in this category will be able to use Hungarian roads on a kilometre-based, pay-per-use basis.
